All About B on the Ranch

Updated: Sep 1, 2022

Hello friends, thanks for reading. You guessed right we live on a working bison or what everyone knows them by “buffalo” ranch. My favorite things to do is quilting and baking when I'm not chasing a little boy around.

The ranch was started by my father and mother-in-law in 2006. It all started with my father-in-law going on a bison hunt in Canada and falling in love with them. After that the rest is history, he came back and what started as a fun and interesting hobby turned into a full-blown cow-calf operation. Don’t get me wrong it is still a ton of fun.

The ranch has had several home fronts over the years. Once the current ranch was purchased it has been the home base for our operation. We not only have a herd in Texas, but we also have a herd and ranch located in eastern Oklahoma which started in 2016.

Currently my husband and I work and live on the Texas Ranch with our one-year-old boy. I cannot think of a better place to raise a child, today.

I help my husband with ranch work when he is home and at the fire station. Always seems like when he is at the fire station everything happens. Trucks delivering feed, fence needing fixed, cows being sick or calves needing to be pulled. Truly this is the best job and life one could have.

In my spare time I love to quilt and cross stitch. Long story short I began quilting in high school but falling in love with it happened in college. My next post will be all about how I started and how I got to where I am today.

Most people find it interesting that I am so young and enjoy a dying tradition and hobby. Which I think is a ton of fun.

When I am not chasing a little boy around, quilting or ranch work I enjoy being in the kitchen. My favorite thing to make is baked goods. I started baking sourdough in April so I could use my late Aunt's recipes. Although my favorite thing to bake is sweets, mainly cupcakes.

If you have stuck with me so far, I cannot wait to share this journey with you. You will see mostly ranching and quilting with some baking and lifestyle post thrown in. I'm so glad you are here and am ecstatic to share this journey with you!
